Terms of Service
Last updated 24 August 2026
These terms cover the use of steadyfoundations.org. They are written to be read, not to be impressive.
On this page
1. Who we are
Steady Foundations is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Steady Foundations; "you" means the person using this site.
2. Using this site
You may read, print and share anything on this site for personal or nonprofit purposes. Please do not use the site to break the law, to try to gain access to our systems or anyone else's, to submit deliberately false information, or to send automated or bulk submissions through our forms.
3. Requesting help
Submitting the help form starts a conversation. It is not an application that we are obliged to approve, and it does not create a contract or a promise of assistance.
We cannot help everyone who asks, and we will not pretend otherwise. Our funds are finite. We may need to verify a need, we may need to decline, and we may need to refer you elsewhere. We will tell you either way rather than leaving you waiting.
This site is not an emergency service. If you are in immediate danger, call 911. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.
4. Donations and pledges
We do not process payments on this website. Submitting the donate form records a pledge — an indication of what you intend to give — and we will contact you about how to complete it. A pledge is not a binding commitment and you can change your mind or withdraw it by emailing us.
Once online giving is live, gifts will be processed by an established third-party payment processor under its own terms. Gifts to Steady Foundations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law; we will provide the acknowledgement the IRS requires. Unless you tell us your gift is for a specific purpose and we accept it on that basis, gifts are unrestricted and we direct them where they are most needed.
5. Volunteering
Offering to volunteer starts a conversation in the same way. We screen volunteers before matching them to anyone we serve, and we may decline an offer. Volunteering does not create an employment relationship and is not compensated. Some roles require a background check, a licence, or insurance, and we will say so before you begin.
6. Our content and yours
The text, design, logo and images on this site belong to Steady Foundations or are used with permission, except where credited otherwise. Please do not use our name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse you or your organization without asking us first.
Anything you send us stays yours. By sending it you give us permission to use it internally for the purpose you sent it for. We do not publish your story, name or photograph without asking you separately — see our Privacy Policy.
7. Third-party services and links
This site is served through Cloudflare and loads web fonts from Google Fonts. Where we link to another organization, we do so because we think it may be useful; we do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.
8. No warranty
We work to keep this site accurate and available, but we provide it "as is". We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that the information on it is complete or current. Nothing here is legal, financial, medical or construction advice.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Steady Foundations and its directors, staff and volunteers are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of this site. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
